III Treasurer’s Report 

Checking Balance $3668.54 (including Memberships recently deposited)

Note: This does not include SD Teams related money or expenses.

IV Secretary’s Report

Family Memberships   4 (12-16 players total under the “family” plan)

Regular Memberships 14   (one more than last year)

  1. Reports from Committees

    1. Scholastic Committee   Jill and Terry Likens
      1. Kaitlyn Loos will be the Girls’ Champion – Rep for Susan Polgar
      1. Kyle Jensen will be Rep for Denker HS Champion
      2. $250 each from SDCA to help offset expenses
      3. There were 2 scholastic tournaments in Garretson, SD- one in October (Split Rock) and the State Scholastic Championship
      4. Alex’s chess program in Sioux Falls included Monthly Tournaments January – May and Camps in Sioux Falls and Spearfish
      5. Suggestions for a 3rd tournament type at one of the three “Scholastic Sites” – “Teams” tournament (4-players) – Novice Tournament – Class Tournament (to include a novice tournament)
      6. Trophies – One Team Trophy for the High School Section – Allowing 1 player teams in that section to show a true “High School Champion”
      7. We need to get a real scholastic committee in place to discuss a sliding scale for trophies to players – and other scholastic information – Face to Face meetings in Sioux Falls and/or Garretson

    1. Date for the Closed –
      1. Terry is talking to the SDSM&T about holding the Closed there the third weekend in September – since we don’t give out money, that may be allowed
