The 2009-2010 Rapid City Scholastic Chess season kicked-off Saturday with the K-12 “Big Turkey” Chess Classic.  The tournament was held at the Rapid City Public Library on November 21st with teams from South Canyon, Corral Drive and Grandview Elementary, Southwest and South Middle School, and Rapid City Home School. The tournament was hosted by Randy Christensen and Aaron Knudson. The results are as follows:

K-3 Individual

1^st place:  Gabriel Knudson- 4 points Rapid City Home School

2^nd place:  Justin Anderson- 2 points Grandview Elementary

3^rd place:  Jackson McGough- 1.5 points Grandview Elementary

K-3 Team

• • 3^rd place: South Canyon Elementary- 7.5 points (Nolan Fredrick, Lane Jensen, Andruw Burling, Dylan McNeal, Ahren Wagner, Sarah Frederick)

2^nd place: Sanha Ryoo- 3 points  Southwest Middle
