General Announcements:
This is a USCF-rated tournament open only to scholastic chess players, grades K-12. Boards & timers provided in all sections. Team trophies awarded to top five teams in overall tournament (scores based on maximum of four students from same school playing in any of the three sections). Teams based on elementary, middle, or high school affiliation.
Open Section:
Five round SS G/40. Round times 10 am, 11:30 am, 1:30 pm, 3 pm, and 4:30 pm. Trophies awarded for top 7 individuals.
Intermediate Section (U600):
Six round SS G/30. Round times 10 am, 11 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. Trophies awarded for top five individuals.
Beginner Section (U400):
Six round SS G/30. Round times 10 am, 11 am, 1:30 pm, 2:30 pm, 3:30 pm, and 4:30 pm. Trophies awarded for top five individuals. Medals to top five unrated individuals who do not qualify for trophy in this section.
Registration:
On-site Registration opens at 9 am. Anyone registering after 9:45 am will receive a first round bye (1/2-point). This is a USCF-rated event, therefore USCF membership is required for all sections.
Pre-event registration fees are $10 for all sections. USCF membership will be available on site (see list of fees below). On site (late) registration is allowed. Fees are $20 for all sections.

All checks should be made payable to the “Sioux Empire Chess Foundation,” or “SECF,” and PRE-REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED!

(see www.uschess.org for all membership options). Regular/Premium USCF Scholastic (13 & under at expiration)= $16/$23; Regular/Premium USCF Youth (16 & under at expiration)= $20/$27; Regular/Premium USCF Young Adult (25 & under at expiration)= $24/$32.
